Water for Life and Peace

Today close to 800 million have no access to safe-drinking water, and 2.5 billion lack basic sanitation services. Water shortages and pollution cause major public health problems, curb development and harm ecosystems. A child dies every 20 seconds from water-related illness.

Green Cross addresses the lack of access to water and sanitation through advocacy, education, and practical projects around the world. We work with a wide range of partners to achieve this.

Our water programme works on three key areas to provide access for communities in need with sustainable safe water and hygiene; share water sources, like cross-border rivers; and advocate for governments to ensure their citizens obtain this most precious of resources.
