The Country’s National Climate Committee is looking for innovative solutions to solve the environmental issues that they, and the world, face today.
Due to our wide-ranging and far-reaching network in Greece throughout all sectors, including Government, NGOs and the Energy Industry, we intend to work together, in tandem with the Country’s efforts, to create a holistic, cooperative, innovative and consistent country-wide solution for Greece.
Interactive Atlas
Once success is proven in Greece, we aim to bring our customized, all-encompassing approach to other EU countries, as well as to Africa.
Long term, our model could be implemented state-by-state in the United States as well and would be an excellent addition to a US clean energy plan.

Ashaninka Reforestation Project in the Amazon
In the heart of the Amazon Rainforest in the State of Acre, Brazil, a reforestation program will be launched together with the Yorenka Tasorentsi Institute of the Ashaninka People. Our goal is to plant 150,000 trees. This project supports the local Indigenous communities. They set an example for the rest of the world with traditional wisdom and connection to nature. Their way of tree planting promotes biodiversity and protection of the rainforest. The Ashaninka People endeavor to plant 10 million trees over the next 10 years. The project is led by Benki Piyãko, the Indigenous spiritual leader from the Ashaninka Tribe, working for the rights and preservation of Native Peoples, of their cultures and the natural habitat. All trees planted are of endemic species, which contribute to regaining the natural equilibrium of the living rainforest and can help to rehabilitate the Amazon.
The Amazon rainforest is said to be the lungs of the Earth. With the urgency of Climate Change never before has it been so important to protect and work to regenerate this region of the world.
The Yorenka Tasorentsi reforestation project in Brazil is made possible through a partnership including Green Cross International and Association Aquaverde with the support of Omaze fundraising platform.

Smart Energy in Greece
Green Cross Greece is proposed to open in 2022, with a program related to smart energy. These are their plans.
Green Cross Greece on the way with Smart Energy
We believe that true change starts with communities and individuals. They are the most vulnerable to climate change, but are also at the heart of building a better future. The will of the local community is often the difference between success or failure when building new smart, sustainable clean energy power plants Because of this, we have made communities a primary focus.
A cornerstone of what we offer is that we partner with local NGO’s, governments and private corporations and businesses to apply together in consortium for grants and to co-host events. This consortia approach is highly successful in Europe and allows GCI to amplify our ability to make action happen.
In 2022 we are starting Green Cross Greece to serve as our Smart Energy pilot country
The European Union (EU) has committed itself to climate change adaptation strategies and innovations with its Green Deal.
The EU’s efforts are focused on building the economy in a sustainable way, and we seek to collaborate, so as to bring our expertise, innovation and funding to accelerate these efforts.
Not only is the current EU policy centered on climate change adaptation, renewable energy, and sustainability, but Greece and the current Prime Minister have established a strong focus on climate solutions.

Smart, clean energy learning for Future Generations
- Immersive live and virtual educational experience in partnership with schools with virtual immersion, art, field trips, modules and videos, with the goal to bring sustainable & smart energy curriculum to all schools in a country.
Organic Farm-to-Table plant-based cuisine presented by sustainable local chefs.
We are developing our clean energy programs through partnerships, including an innovative biogas model from Green Cross Russia, onsite solar and wind turbines.
Our media spotlight amplifies a Country’s clean energy pledge
- We work closely with each country to determine highly visible, archaeological sites or religious landmarks to install ground-mounted or rooftop solar.
- This event is amplified with global press to announce a country’s pledge to make a just transition to 100% climate neutrality.
- Our partner: Solar Head of State
We will develop community programs targeted to issues
- We immerse ourselves in the local community to bridge the gap between clean energy developers and the community’s specific concerns.
- We will seek advice from community leaders and partner NGOs to develop creative solutions to local economic & cultural issues.
We will offer community programs tailored to local needs
Our programs address the key issues that plague communities for acceptance of new renewable energy plants in their local area. Additionally, we bring expertise through our collaboration with Island Innovation, a global leader in sustainability and clean energy for islands and the host of the Virtual Island Summit.
In the case that the EarthIndex platform identifies in advance areas where economics, like tourism is a factor, as well as archaeological, environmental, endangered species or other cultural sites, we will work with developers to recommend alternate, project sites where we identify creative grant solutions to ensure the project is profitable.
