Green Cross Spain presents environmental volunteering project conclusions

Green Cross Spain and the Environmental Science Association (Asociación de Ciencias Ambientales, ACA) presented the conclusions from the "Environmental Volunteering in Henares Basin" project on 27 November. The two organisations undertook a variety of activities through the Ministry of Environment, Rural and Marine Affairs' River Volunteering Program during October and November to promote the project, where more than 100 volunteers joined in.

The initiative, which is supported by the Alcalá de Henares City Council and Alcalá University, aims to improve the knowledge of the Henares River at the city of Alcalá de Henares (Madrid) by conducting research on physical, chemical and biological characteristics of the water, training on riparian ecosystems, cleaning up the borders and identifying plants and animals.
