Green Cross Spain presents Handbook on Sustainable Development in Sports at Congress in Spain

GC Spain, in collaboration with the Barcelona Olympic Foundation and the Ernest LLuch Foundation presented their "Handbook on Sustainable Development in non-Olympic Sports" at the Congress on Sport and Sustainable Development. The Congress, organised by the Spanish Olympic Committee and the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces, took place in Madrid 16-17 October.

Mr. Alberto Fraguas, Executive Director and Mr. Eduardo Perero, Deputy Director of Green Cross Spain presented the Handbook, which was launched last March in Barcelona. The Handbook is specially directed to sport facility managers and sport events organizers and is divided into four chapters. The first chapter introduces the types of sports present in the handbook and the main environmental problems each sport has to face. The second one provides information on good practises to use both at sporting events and facilities. The third chapter is about specific good practices for each sport and, finally, the last chapter covers communication and environmental awareness among sports.
