Mikhail Gorbachev receives Energy Globe Award

A life time achievement award was presented to Mikhail Gorbachev on the occasion of the Energy Globe Awards held on 26th May in the European Parliament in Brussels. In recognition for his past and current efforts towards a better future for the planet, Mr. Gorbachev received the Special Award from the hands of EU Parliament President Hans-Gert Pöttering and EU Council President Jose Manuel Barroso for his engagement on behalf of the environment through the International NGO Green Cross International (GCI) he founded in 1993. Upon receiving the award, the GCI Founding President said: "We're going to have to work harder together for more success in the future."
