Green Cross Japan launches a new website for kids

For a long time, forests have provided a wonderful example of the harmony possible between people and nature. People benefit from the rich nature of woods while they conserve and make them sustainable generations to come.

Recently, however, urbanisation has led to forests’ destruction without reviewing their importance. By studying woodland areas we can draw many lessons and learn how to co-exist with nature in modern life. The website will teach children about the various features of forests – their history, fairytales, bio-diversity, and the forest’s symbiotic relationship with people and the implied ecological issues that this entails.

The site consists of pictures, cartoons, and movies so that the children can enjoy learning with the virtual exploration of forests. The production of the website has been wholly funded by the Ministry of Education and Science’s “Child Dream Fund.”
