2012 Astana-Semipalatinsk Forum: From a nuclear test ban to a nuclear-weapons-free world

Venue: Astana, Kazakhstan

From 27-30 August, parliamentarians from around the world will gather in Astana, Kazakhstan for this forum hosted by the Kazakhstan Parliament and organised by the Parliamentarians for Nuclear Non-Proliferation and Disarmament network.

The forum, to be opened by President Nazarbayev, will build upon the nuclear disarmament experience and inspiration of Kazakhstan in order to shape parliamentary action and build political momentum to achieve the global abolition of nuclear weapons.
