Very little is done in preparing communities and local authorities for industrial accidents. However, like natural disasters, they claim victims and cause huge economic losses each year.
Properly maintained industrial sites, together with well-prepared adjacent communities, contribute to cost-effective disaster risk reduction and local resilience. The role of industry, especially chemical and mining companies, in preparedness for industrial accidents is crucial. Companies can demonstrate that they really care about local people, as ZERO risk simply does not exist. We also encourage insurance companies to support preparedness initiatives. Benefits: less risk, less damage, less insurance claims!
Green Cross offers its partnership, assistance, expertise and collaboration. We encourage industries and insurances around the world to join the cause.
