The two-week Doomed Glaciers of Africa expedition to Uganda's threatened glaciers commended today, with leader Luc Hardy arriving in the capital, Kampala, to meet up with other expedition members to head towards the renowned Rwenzori Mountains.
"What is happening in the Rwenzoris sheds light on the challenges we are facing globally from climate change and the world water crisis," Luc, founder of Pax Arctica, said in a story carried by Voice of America radio.
Today in Kampala, Luc Hardy (pictured far right), joined with (left to right) David Rastouil (moutain guide), Richard Atugonza (of Makerere University), and Sheila Ruyondo (World Youth Parliament for Water – Uganda Representative). The group travelled today to Kasese, the starting point of the expedition into the Rwenzori Mountains.
