Alexander Likhotal announces retirement as GCI President

After 20 years with Green Cross International, 15 of those as President, Alexander Likhotal is stepping back from his role at the head of the organisation.

Likhotal officially submitted the announcement of his retirement at the GCI Board meeting in Moscow on 21 October, which was accepted by the Board and signed by GCI Chairman Mikhail Gorbachev.

The Green Cross family thanks Alexander Likhotal for his principled guidance, expert leadership and dedication over his many years of service with Green Cross, during which time the network of Green Cross offices have grown from a dozen countries to over 30. After stepping down as President he will continue to contribute in his role as an elected member of the GCI Board.

The new Presidency will begin on 15 January 2017.
