Documentary contest engages youth in climate change issues

Connect4Climate, a global partnership launched by the World Bank, the Italian Ministry of Environment and the Global Environment Facility, is launching Action4Climate, a documentary film competition that invites young filmmakers to tell their story about climate change.

According to Action4Climate’s rules and regulations, “The aim of the competition is to tell a story that helps raise awareness about climate change and reveal what local communities or individuals are doing to promote action, offer new solutions and inspire change.  The documentary should provide powerful insights into what is actually happening on the ground and provide a greater understanding of what needs to be done to fight climate change.”

The deadline for submissions to the Action4Climate competition is Februrary 14, 2014 and the grand prize for the winning entry is $15,000.

Some of the best known names in the movie and film industry will be judging the competition.  However, for others wishing to get involved in the judging process, there will also be a voting section to select a People’s Choice Winner.

If you have a story about climate change impacting you and your community, this is the chance to have your story told on a world stage.
