Adviser to the President of France on international negotiations on climate and environment
Marie-Hélène Aubert is an environmentalist and member of the French Verts party (Green party) from 1990 to 2008. She has been a Regional councillor in the Centre region from 1992 to 1998. From 1997 to 2002, she was a deputy for the 4th constituency of the Eure et Loir department.
She has also been vice-president of the National Assembly from 2001 to 2002, and a member of the Foreign affairs commission and of the Delegation for the European Union. From 2004 to 2009, she held a post of European deputy of the West of France, and was a member of the commissions of agriculture, rural development, fishing and development in the European Parliament.
Originally a litterature professor, she holds a Masters degree in Agricultural development and economic policies from the Institute of studies of economic and social development from Paris 1 University. In 2011, she has been the deputy director of the research unit Futur Facteur 4 (Future Factor 4), directed by Pierre Radanne and specialized in questions of energy and sustainable development.
After having taken care of the Energy-Environment-Sustainable development section of François Hollande’s campaign, Marie-Hélène Aubert is today a councillor of the President for international negotiations regarding Climate and Environment.
