Mayor of Geneva

Sandrine Salerno became Mayor of Geneva in 2013. She was a city councillor of the City of Geneva from 1999-2007 and President of the City of Geneva section of the Geneva Socialist Party (2006-2007). She was elected to the Administrative Council in 2007 and re-elected in 2011.

She was the deputy coordinator of the Human Rights program of the Europe-Third World Center (1995-1997). Coordinator at the Contact center of Swiss-Immigrants (1997-2001). Scientific collaborator at the University of Geneva (2001-2006). Deputy for university affairs in the Department of public instruction (2006-2007).

She holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and a masters of advanced studies in public administration management (University of Geneva).
