Garry Jacobs is an American business and economic consultant living in India. He is Chief Executive Officer of the World Academy of Art & Science, Chairman of the Board and CEO of World University Consortium, Managing Editor of Cadmus Journal, Vice President of The Mother’s Service Society (a social science research institute based in Pondicherry, India) and partner in Mira International – a consulting firm based in Napa, California that provides management consulting and training services to small, medium and large corporations in a wide range of industries in the USA, Europe and Asia. He is an author of books, articles and reports on business management, international development, Indian development, economic and social development, education, international security, global governance, psychology, science, literary criticism, and spirituality.
From 1989 to 1994, Jacobs was Member-Secretary of the International Commission on Peace and Food, ICPF, convener of ICPF’s working groups on Employment and on Transition in Eastern Europe, coordinator of the ICPF research team that evolved a strategy to generate 100 million new jobs in India, and editor of the Commission’s report to the UN (entitled Uncommon Opportunities: Agenda for Peace and Equitable Development).
