Green Cross Spain has started a partnership with the Spanish Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment supporting activities about the sustainable mobility.
Within the framework of the European project “European Mobility Week”, Green Cross Spain is collaborating with the Spanish Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment in global activities about Sustainable Mobility. The aim of the project is to promote other ways of transport apart from cars, such as bikes or walking and to contribute to build a smarter and healthier city for all.
The European Mobility Week took place all over Europe from 16 to 22 September, and saw the participation of more than 1,700 Town Halls. In Spain, more than 800 events have been organized all around the country. This included amongst others activities with bikes, green walking around the cities, as well as awareness campaigns for children. And on 22 September took place the Day without Cars.
At the end of the action week, the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment assigned prizes for the best initiatives for a sustainable development. The cities of Salamanca (population over 50,000) and Elgoibar (population below 50,000), and CAPSA Food (in the category “companies”) all received a reward, as well as the radio station Cadena Ser for the best media coverage in this respect.
