14.1 By 2025, prevent and significantly reduce marine pollution of all kinds, in particular from land-based activities, including marine debris and nutrient pollution.

Environmental Security and Sustainability

GCI runs projects to safely and responsibly clean up chemicals and munitions that have been dumped at sea. This not only improves the public health and wellbeing of nearby coastal communities but also benefits marine ecosystems by disposing of harmful pollution.

14.3 Minimize and address the impacts of ocean acidification, including through enhanced scientific cooperation at all levels.

Environmental Security and Sustainability

GCI convenes forums on the state of the world’s oceans, including the issue of acidification. We also support ocean protection group CEDRE – an association of French public and private sector organisations specialising in limiting the effects of accidental surface water pollution – including by recognising them with a Green Star Award in 2015.
