Green Cross Japan concluded the 12th edition of the Green Lane Diary Awards by handing out awards to over 200 students at a ceremony held 11 December in Tokyo, Japan.

The awards ceremony also included a visit from Mr. Matsubara, a 23-year-old university student and alumni of the programme, who shared the impact of his participation 12 years earlier on his life and ultimately led to his decision to study photovoltaic power generation at universtiy.
Started in 1999, the environmental education programme, started by Green Cross Japan, encourages elementary school children to keep a diary for 12 weeks on their ecological activities and environmental impact.
