Green Cross International received the 2014 Sustainability Award from the European University. The prize was presented at the Swiss Commencement Ceremony celebrating the graduation of the institute’s students. This reward recognizes individuals and organizations that have demonstrated a commitment to environmental excellence through outstanding and innovative sustainability practices.
“It is a pleasure and great honor to receive this award,” said Adam Koniuszewki, COO Green Cross International. “It is symbolic in many ways of the growing importance of sustainability as a key driver for business performance and profitability.
“I am very happy that, in cooperation with the European University, we have helped provide future business leaders with the fundamental understanding of the sustainability challenges that is now essential to business success,” concluded Koniuszewski.
Established in 1973, European University (EU) is a triple-accredited, multicampus, international business school. In addition to small, dynamic classes offered in English, EU students also enjoy an international environment while getting the best of both North American and European academic curricula. Every year, the European University presents six individual awards at each of the annual Commencement Ceremonies in Spain, Switzerland and Germany. These awards recognize substantial efforts in corporate responsibility, sustainability, leadership, social responsibility, family business management and a special award to the top graduate who exemplifies innovative entrepreneurship.
Green Cross and EU have been cooperating for many years now. Adam regularly provides lectures to EU students and GCI has also provided EU students with internships in previous years.
