President Gorbachev receives top Russian award

GCI Founding President Mikhail Gorbachev was awarded the St. Andrew order, Russia’s top award, by Russian President Dmitry Medvedev.

“I think it is a fitting mark of the important work you undertook as head of state,” Medvedev said to Gorbachev regarding the award.
Established by Emperor Peter the Great in 1698-99, the award is an eight-pointed star embossed with an image of St. Apostle Andrew, and a blue ribbon.
