PRYPYAT: THE GHOST TOWN OF CHERNOBYL

Two days after the 26 April 1986 Chernobyl nuclear accident, the Ukrainian town of Prypyat, closest to the stricken power plant, was evacuated due to the dangerously high levels of radiation that descended over the town. Many residents and workers at the plant were later relocated to the new purpose built city of Slavutich.

To this day, the abandoned city of Prypyat stands as a stark reminder of the perils posed by nuclear technology and the serious human impacts it can cause.
