SDG 4: QUALITY EDUCATION
4.a Build and upgrade education facilities that are child, disability and gender sensitive and provide safe, non-violent, inclusive and effective learning environments for all.
Water for Life and Peace
GCI Smart Water for Green Schools project provides WHO standard drinking water to schools in vulnerable communities, thereby ensuring schools are equipped with this fundamental resource. Moreover, by providing gender-sensitive sanitation infrastructure, GCI not only improves the public health and sanitation of schools but also creates an inclusive learning environment for girls.
4.7 By 2030, ensure that all learners acquire the knowledge and skills needed to promote sustainable development, including, among others, through education for sustainable development and sustainable lifestyles, human rights, gender equality, promotion of a culture of peace and non-violence, global citizenship and appreciation of cultural diversity and of culture’s contribution to sustainable development.
Promoting sustainable development and environmental awareness is a key priority for GCI and something we implement through our youth education projects. We instill children and their families with a positive awareness of, and responsibility for, their actions and the environment, in order to promote a lasting and secure environment for all to enjoy.
